Working with the Climate Solutions Now Coalition – using targeted paid ads, a series of first-person videos, earned and social media – we were part of a successful effort to pass several key pieces of climate-related legislation and laying the groundwork for a major climate bill in 2022. Fighting for Essential Workers
We spearheaded a wide-ranging communications strategy for 1199SEIU, including digital ads, social media, grassroots outreach and earned media, to pass the Maryland Essential Workers’ Protection Act.
Supporting a New Community-Driven Grantmaking Initiative
We oversaw communications for the launch of B’more Invested, a new grantmaking initiative anchored by Baltimore’s Promise and OSI-Baltimore. Our team created the logo, launched the website and developed a range of materials to highlight this exciting new venture. https://www.bmoreinvested.org/
Advocating for Transit Funding
Partnering with the Save Maryland Transit Coalition, we developed an integrated public relations campaign using social media, digital and print advertising, a microsite, op-eds, letters to the editor and earned media to keep up a steady drumbeat of pressure on legislators. The result was the successful passage of the Maryland Transit Safety and Investment Act, which will significantly improve public transportation over the next decade.
A New Resource For Returning Citizens
We oversaw the launch of Return Home Baltimore, a new website providing a wealth of resources to help people returning from prison restart their lives. This new tool will allow men and women in Baltimore to better navigate the challenging path forward for returning citizens.
Confronting The Covid-19 Access To Justice Crisis
We were pleased to write the report of Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh’s COVID-19 Access to Justice Task Force, which explored the enormous impact of the pandemic on the state’s civil justice system. Sharing Communications Strategies in Brussels and Maryland
Waldron Strategies President Tom Waldron was a featured presenter at the Maryland Nonprofits annual conference, discussing messaging and social media in advocacy campaigns. He also talked about dealing with the media with a group of health department public information officers from around the state. Tom was also an invited panelist at an international conference on the death penalty in Brussels, talking about the communications work he led in the successful effort to repeal Maryland’s death penalty.

We created the 2019 annual report for the Institute for Islamic, Christian, and Jewish Studies – writing the text to capture the Institute’s complicated work and designing an attractive document.

A New PAC Joins the Fight for Democracy
We created the Just the Truth PAC website to share videos about the damage the Trump Administration was doing to our democracy and to encourage people to vote. Our 20-plus videos have received millions of views in battleground states.
